Woke up this morning in Manhattan and knew it was going to be a busy day. I had a breakfast meeting with a gentleman that provided some keen insight on what was going on in my industry...then I headed out to 5th avenue to do some shopping and find the perfect gift for my wife (today was our anniversary)...then I had to catch a plane at 1:30 PM to fly back to Syracuse...so that I could attend yet another wine group meeting (yes...I belong to 3 wine groups and they managed to have meetings/tastings within 72 hours of one another). My wife was kind enough to let me attend this afternoon tasting on our anniversary. I told her that the host was going to pour a vertical of Caymus Special Reserve wines...and that he had been talking about doing this vertical for a couple of years...and...I really did not want to miss it. So I didn't...and it was great. I truly only had small taste of each bottle so that I was able to have my wits about me to take my lovely wife out to dinner later in the evening. We went to a local restaurant that allows you to bring your own wine on Tuesday and Thursday...so I brought a 19 year old Mouton Rothschild...made the same year we were married...and it was fantastic!!!
