I had dinner tonight in Philadephia at a restauran called Victor Cafe'. This is a nice family run Italian restaurant who's wait staff will frequently turn down the background music and perform a solo aria. Fantastic!!! It was quite a unique experience and I would love to go back some day and take my family to this place. As it was...I was entertaining some customers tonight...dinner first...and then we were off to the World Series game to see the Phillies win. Rain was in the forecast...but we had two bottles of fine Italian wine in us by the time we got to the game and we were ready for anything. As predicted though...the sky opened up and we managed to get soaked to the bone in 40 degree temps. All the fun of being at a World Series game wore off in a hurry and we decided to leave in the 6th inning to watch the rest of the game in a warm tavern. We never made it to the tavern...because shortly after we left...the game was called. Now it looks like the game will resume on Wednesday night. My tickets are good for a return trip to watch the last three innings...but I am not sure I want to make that drive again so soon. We stayed the night in Philly and drove back Tuesday morning...and the drive was a drive from Hell going through blowing snow and rain over the mountains of Pennsylvania. It is a little too soon for Winter...we need some more Fall weather before I am ready to handle much snow and cold weather.
