A Walk In My Shoes...
Walk with me...

My youngest son...unlike my older son...is far more interested in the candy aspect of Halloween vs the hooliganism. When the night was done...he and his friends dumped their bounty on the floor and started counting how many pieces of candy they had. It was hilarious listening to the three boys each counting out loud. When all was said and done...they each had around 150 pieces of candy. My son had exactly 157. He and I were both atounded at the number. My wife and I made our minds up a few years ago that after Halloween...it is best to just let the kids eat the candy until it is gone...rather than try and get them to save it. 157 pieces...I am sure that when I was his age...a good haul for Halloween night was 30 or 40 pieces of candy. Those were the good ol' days...when you got a whole candy bar instead of these miniature cadies they now give away. A full size tootsie roll, straws filled with colored sugar, full rolls of Necos, twizzlers, carmels filled with white cream, red hots, etc. They just don't give out the good stuff anymore.

The highlight of Halloween night for me this year was every liberal democrat I saw that night...I stopped to tell them that the LA Times had decided to release the Obama video they had, the one that had been in the news for the past few days...and what the tape revealed was certain to end Obama's hope for the Presidency. I told them that it was all over the news networks. Well...I ruined the night for a few people. One friend immediately called his mother and asked her to check the news channels for the story...he was devastated that his man might be out of the race. I saw him the next night and he called me a few choice names for ruining his night with that tale...but then we laughed about it. Thank God for all my Liberal Democratic friends...my life would be so less fulfilling without them.
