Today is a special day...my Mother is retiring. She has spent the past 5 years working at my offices in Norwich, NY...driving an hour each way to work and home every day...including the nasty Winter days. She wrote a wonderful note to all the employees thanking them for sharing their time at Pro-Tel with her and at one point in the note she writes "The most important job left to do in my life is teaching my grandchildren everything I learned from my parents and grandparents. I am not sure why; but you listen better to those people than you do your parents." The first day of the rest of her life...that is what the morrow brings for her. I have a lot of retired friends...and they all seem just as busy as they were when they were working. So cheers to all you retired folks...and to you Mom...enjoy the new adventures bound to come your way.
